Freedom is key in Lithuania
I’m visiting the Baltic countries which are comprised of Vilnius in Lithuania, Riga in Latvia and Tallin in Estonia. They are located in the north-eastern part of Europe.
I’m in Vilnius the capital of Lithuania and on a tour to Trakai Castle. Trakai is a castle located on an Island 40 minutes outside of Vilnius, it was built in the 14th to 15th Century- a distinctive and very photogenic reddish brick gothic structure. Here I asked a local what constitutes good mental health in Lithuania and their reply was very interesting: “We have good mental health when we have freedom from such things as being under say a strict regime or under financial pressure. Financial issues can certainly decrease a person’s happiness overall.”
